Images Of North Cornwall

Some of my favourite images were taken at Newquay, Perranporth & around The Rumps Headland.

Newquay Fistral Beach with rolling Atlantic breakers providing great sport for surfing, and it’s golden sand, rock pools & headland walks make it a great location for all. Many of my best images of Fistral Bay were taken around the rock pools.

Newquay Harbour & Towan Beach are more central to the Town. Built in 1439 the Town Quay was extended in 1875 with the introduction of the railway. Travelling two miles east along the Cornish coast lies Watergate Bay another popular surfing beach. Why not take the picturesque cliff walk from Porth Cove & capture some photos looking down on Watergate Bay. Or perhaps just grab your surf board and join in the fun!

Perranporth Beach has three miles of golden sand with towering Sand Junes, it’s one of the best beaches in Cornwall, a surfers paradise with the RNLI on hand to ensure safety for all. My favoured spot for taking Seascape Pictures is on the west cliff. With ample parking and plenty of food & gift shops Perranporth has something to offer for everyone.

The Rumps has some of the most outstandingly beautiful scenery with stunning views in all directions. The walk from Polzeath to Rumps Point through to Lundy Bay & Port Quin can easily fill a day especially if stopping to capture some memorable pictures. The cliff path is steep and falls away sharply in places so I would class it as unsafe for young children.

Port Isaac has one of the prettiest Harbours on the Cornish Coast with it’s stone cottages dating back to the middle ages. The location doubled as Portwenn in the ITV TV comedy drama Doc Martin.
